My favorite tech and creator newsletters

<![CDATA[I don’t like algorithms deciding what ends up in my reading feed. For my content consumption I want platforms that don't filter but deliver all the content from all the sources I want, and only those sources.

This is why my information hub is an RSS feed reader, Feedly. In addition, since running my own email newsletter for some time, I have been subscribing to a growing number of newsletters on a variety of topics. From technology and software development, to content creation and publishing.

Here are the newsletters I subscribe to. I prefer niche, obscure, or unique sources, so I hope this list will help you discover valuable content that’s not mainstream.

8bitnews: retrocomputing news, resources, and projects
Abort, Retry, Fail: computing history, retrocomputing, alternative operating systems, and Linux
Computer Ads from the Past: old computer ads, each accompanied by a short history of the advertised product or company
Erik Explores: making programming, science and technology more accessible
PyCoder’s Weekly: the best roundup of Python news, articles, tutorials, development projects, and code
The Rocket Report (see also the archive): news and updates on the space launch industry
Write The Docs Community Newsletter: discussions and updates on creating software documentation

I'll keep the list up to date.

newsletters

a href="https://remark.as/p/journal.paoloamoroso.com/my-favorite-tech-and-creator-newsletters"Discuss.../a
Email | Reply @amoroso@oldbytes.space

!--emailsub--]]>

8bitnews: a quality retrocomputing newsletter

<![CDATA[8bitnews is a newsletter curating and handpicking retrocomputing content. I read it cover to cover and don't miss an issue.

The newsletter covers retrocomputing news and projects with quality curation, a wide variety of resources, and a distinctive upbeat voice. I particularly like 8bitnews for its wide scope. While many retrocomputing blogs and publications focus on gaming, 8bitnews shares also content about vintage-related technologies, devices, software, and programming.

#retrocomputing #newsletters

a href="https://remark.as/p/journal.paoloamoroso.com/8bitnews-a-quality-retrocomputing-newsletter"Discuss.../a
Email | Reply @amoroso@oldbytes.space

!--emailsub--]]>
